Filters are often used in social platforms to adjust the content of a person's feed. They could consist of words or topics or sort content/behavior algorithmically. Filters can be platform, community or user level. At a platform or community level, they can be used as moderation tools to exclude hate speech and misinformation. At the user level, filters may be used by a person to adjust who they see content from or topics that are more interesting or relevant to their own interests which could push down content not associated with those topics.
