Platform Transparency
Platforms should provide public access to the rules and guidelines they use for moderation, and be clear about why and how they take the actions they do to mitigate hate on their platform.
How does this mitigate hate?
Providing transparency about the actions that the platform takes for moderation helps to build trust with users and others concerned with the platform’s moderation practices. This transparency also makes it possible for platforms to be held accountable for their efforts to mitigate hate – allowing people to see what the platform is doing to mitigate hate, and whether or not those efforts are effective.
